Research & Development
SePRO Corporation is a company focused on product stewardship and development. A
core focus of SePRO’s aquatic research team is the development of new aquatic
plant management tools and solutions. Over the past 10 years, SePRO has focused
laboratory and field resources to bring new management solutions to the canal market.
These efforts have resulted in solutions such as Sonar, Nautique and The New Standard
Program for Canals.
Research and development efforts for the canal market continue with our scientists
and aquatic specialists at the SePRO Research and Technology Campus in North Carolina
and in the field. One of the products that have recently emerged from SePRO’s
research and development efforts is Galleon.
Galleon* SC Aquatic Herbicide
In 2007, SePRO Corporation was granted registration of a new mode of action by the
United States Environmental Protection Agency. Galleon SC represents an exciting
new technology for management of a variety of submersed, floating and emergent invasive
and nuisance aquatic plants. Galleon SC is classified as an EPA Reduced-Risk Aquatic
Herbicide based on its use characteristics and toxicology. SePRO has been granted
an Experimental Use Permit for application to dry or dewatered canals. SePRO is
actively evaluating this product in the lab and field for potential use in irrigation
canals. Stay tuned for future developments with Galleon SC and the many other compounds
we are currently screening for use in canals.
