     Bob Boeren of Roanoke, VA., became the 155th ground management professional to receive the Professional Grounds Management Society’s (PGMS) Certified Grounds Manager (CSM). In an interview Boeren explained his reasons for pursuing the accreditation, and what it was like preparing for the two-part exam. “I have truly enjoyed stretching my technical, organizational and scientific knowledge base to include the topics covered in the CGM program.” His advice for those interested? “[Gain] practical experience in different areas of ground maintenance and [take] the time to read landscape and grounds maintenance magazines or books.”
