     Lime Pond, a ten acre pond in Barnard, Vermont, has become the 68th water body in the state to have an identified infestation of Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spicatum). The nonnative perennial was found when conducting annual water quality sampling, and is the first identified in the town of Barnard. Locals are asked to clean, drain and dry all boats, trailers and equipment after use, and to buy bait only from licensed dealers.  Around 22% of Vermont's lakes and ponds have identified infestations of watermilfoil.
