SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the Eastern United States, is proud to announce that Shannon Junior has been chosen by SePRO Corporation as their Preferred Applicator of the Year.

At their annual Preferred Applicator Seminar, SePRO, an industry leader in the development and manufacturing of environmentally responsible solutions for aquatic plant management, recognizes one person, throughout the nation, as Applicator of the Year. This award recognizes an individual who shows leadership in advancing the science of aquatic plant management, has demonstrated environmental and product stewardship throughout their career, continues to express a high level of professionalism in aquatic plant management, and has a drive to expand their knowledge of aquatic plant management.

Shannon Junior, Aquatic Ecologist and Regional Manager at SOLitude Lake Management, has 14 years of aquatic plant management and treatment experience and is a licensed applicator in eight states. Throughout her career, Shannon has been instrumental in providing aquatic plant management education to her peers and clients as well as using her experiences and expertise to better the industry. In addition to working with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to set up a pesticide container recycling program for her own office, she also served on the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality for the creation of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for aquatic pesticide applications.

The recipient of this prestigious award is nominated and selected from a Preferred Applicator company. SePRO recognizes a select group of companies throughout the United States as Preferred Applicators who show their dedication to enhancing the aquatics industry and are engaged with using the latest advances in training, technology and products. These companies demonstrate that they are stewards of the environment, and use all products and technologies in a careful and professional manner. SOLitude Lake Management has been a SePRO Preferred Applicator company since 1999.

SOLitude Lake Management was founded on the notion that sustainability is the cornerstone of promoting environmental stewardship and ecological balance. Noted by Kevin Tucker, owner of SOLitude Lake Management, “Shannon provides consultative and sustainable solutions to improve every water body she encounters.” Throughout all of her work and volunteering, Shannon is truly committed to creating a better world through her environmental practices and product stewardship. “I could not be more proud of her accomplishments,” he continued, “and this national recognition is well deserved.”

Unaware that her manager nominated her for this award, Shannon was “ecstatic and amazed” to be recognized. She continued, “SePRO is such a strong partner in our industry, and their products and support allow us to provide truly sustainable aquatic resource management strategies for our clients. The previous recipients of the award are colleagues that I intensely admire and respect, and to be included among that group is a sincerely humbling experience and the epitome of my career.”
