The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands alongside the Utah Lake Commission and other local organizations will be out combating phragmites this year.  A web page detailing their management strategy, beginning with aerial treatments to 500 acres on the lake’s west side, says mechanical removal efforts will follow on the shoreline in fall and spring until funding runs out. The lake boasts roughly 75 miles of shoreline and is host to important access points and recreation areas.
